Mercedes-Benz India has introduced GLS Grand Edition in the country in both the petrol and diesel options. The petrol GLS 400 Grand Edition and the diesel GLS 350 d Grand Edition are priced at Rs. 86.90 lakh in India. The GLS Grand Edition obtains cosmetic updates such as an Intelligent LED light system, the black rings, chrome fins on the bonnet, 'Grand Edition' badging on the outside in order to make a visual appearance for the large SUV. Internationally, the Mercedes-Benz GLS Grand Edition was launched at the Detroit Auto Show 2018.

As announced previously, the Mercedes-Benz GLS Grand Edition is made with visual enhancement along with unique black rings, the LED Intelligent Light System, enhanced fog lamp function, dipped beam, a high-sheen finish, painted in Black, and fitted with 20-inch 10-spoke light alloy wheels.
Coming to the interior, the Mercedes-Benz GLS Grand Edition provides luxury and comfort just same as an S-Class. Further, it has two 7 inch high definition screens attached to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It as well obtains 12 function keys, an airbag cover in Nappa leather, a redesigned instrument panel, steering wheel gearshift paddles, newly heated 3-spoke multifunction with Nappa leather steering wheel and semi-integrated color media display. Rear seat entertainment system is standard and owns a boot capacity of 680-liters which can be strengthened to 2300-litres.

The GLS 350 d is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine which is able to churn out a maximum power of 254 bhp and a peak torque of 620NM, whereas the GLS 400 obtains 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine as well producing a max power of 329 bhp and a peak torque of 480Nm. Both the engines are mated to a 9G-Tronic automatic gearbox which transmits power to the permanent 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system. Further, it takes Dynamic Select controller along with 5 modes including Sport, Comfort, Individual, Off-road, and Slippery. Coming to the performance figure, it reaches from idle to 100 kmph in 7.8 seconds. Whereas the petrol variant can repeat the same in just 6.6 seconds.
Mercedes-Benz also provides service packages initiating from Rs. 104,000 for the GLS 350 and Rs. 75,000 for the GLS 400 for a time period of 2 years. As per the company, these customer-oriented packages offers will last up to 10 years.
