Mercedes-Benz to Lunch CLA in January 2015 in India

Back in 2013, the German auto giant Mercedes-Benz lost some its market share in competition with its country counterparts BMW and Audi. But, in the year 2014 Mercedes-Benz launched many cars to win most of its lost share back. The company also performed well with all these vehicle launches and planning to start 2015 in the same fashion. Yeah, Mercedes-Benz will be launching its CLA Compact sedan in the very first year month of next year against the likes of Audi A3 type D+ segment cars. This new Mercedes-Benz CLA Compact sedan is based on the A Class with extended boot space and tweaked interiors.

Apart from the boot space, other exteriors on the CLA sedan include coupe like roof line, petal shaped tail lights and some tweaks from the CLS saloon too. Inside, the cabin has latest display unit, A-Class based air-con vents, drive assist and other essential safety features as well. Mechanically, the car is powered by 2.0 Litre petrol unit offering 181 bhp power and 300 Nm torque, and a 2.1 Litre diesel unit churning out a maximum of 136 PS power and 300 Nm of torque. Both the models will get the same 7G Dual Clutch Transmission Automatic gear box as well.

The car will be brought to India via CBU route and hence will be priced a bit higher. This could affect the selling number, and Mercedes-Benz may build the car in India once it gets popularized like its other models.
