Mercedes Benz has reportedly confirmed that it is going to launch the GLE Coupe in India “sometime next year”. The luxury automaker has already launched the GLE Class SUV model in October, 2015 at INR 58.90 Lacs. Recently, the company has also confirmed to launch the A Class facelift version on December 8. Even though Mercedes owns an assembly plant in Pune for the cars which are introduced via CKD route, this upcoming coupe is going to be brought in the country as a CBU unit. An AMG kit can also be expected to be offered with the upcoming offering.

Talking about the mechanical details, it is expected to come in powerful engine options. One of the variants labeled as GLE 350d could be fitted with a 3 litre, V6 twin turbo diesel motor. This unit is capable of making 255Hp and 620Nm of maximum output. Power is transmitted to the wheels via a 9G tronic automatic gearbox that is linked to an AWD facility.

Moving on to another variant named GLE 63S, it might carry a 5.5 litre twin turbo V8 engine that has the caliber to generate 567Hp and 760Nm of output. Transmission is carried out by a 7-Speed gearbox to all the four wheels. Like all other luxury cars, we believe this one will also get superior elements like those found in the regular GLE. These include Nappa leather upholstery, hi-tech COMMAND infotainment display, dual zone climate control, Dynamic Select, rear AC vents, and rear parking sensors.
