The subsidiary of the BMW auto, Mini is all set to launch its 3rd generation car in India next year and the company has now started promotional campaigns in the country as well. In this campaign, Mini will try to lure the possible buyers by telling its features, pros and advantages over other small luxury cars in India. The company will also let the customers drive these cars to let them get complete idea about this car. Mini 3rd generation cars were launched recently at the Paris Motor Show 2014 and the car has grown longer, handy and beautiful with some old features kept as it is too.
In India, Mini cars will be based on the UKL drive platform with enhanced cabin space, digital information system, new instrument control panel, old styled toggle switches and most importantly its legacy and appeal which made the Mini a separate brand in the world. Customers will have the offer of selecting both, 3-door and 5-door cars of the countryman model with convertible style as well.
Mechanically, Mini will offer 1.5 Litre 3-Cylinder petrol and diesel models producing 134 bhp and 114 bhp power respectively, mated with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission systems. However, there would be a 4-cylinder petrol version producing 189 bhp power as well, but only for the top-trim Cooper S model. Brought as Completely Built Unit (CBU) in India, the cars will cost around INR 27-35 Lac and will fight against next month launching Fiat 500 X Abarth model with others as well.
