The Turismo Veloce 800 Sports Tourer from MV Agusta, which was slated to hit the country early this year, has finally been launched in India. It is priced at INR 18.99 lakh and will be available to purchase through 2019 MV Agusta Motoroyale, brand’s official partner to handle its operations in the country.
The MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 is called “the everyday F3” from the manufacturer’s end due to its sporty characteristics besides being a touring motorcycle. It is powered by a 798cc, three-cylinder motor that is rated to churn out the maximum power of 110hp at 10,150rpm and 80 Nm of torque at 7,100rpm. As the company claims the motor is capable of rolling out 90 percent of torque at the lowest 3,800rpm.
Globally, the Turismo 800 is available on sale in four variants comprising Standard, 800 Lusso, Lusso SCS and a limited-edition RC SCS. However, the Indian market gets the availability of Standard variant only as of now. Still, it won’t disappoint buyers as the motorcycle comes loaded with numerous high tech equipment, which includes a fully adjustable 43mm Marzocchi USD fork and Sachs mono-shock at suspension front. An up-side-down quick-shifter and an eight-level traction control system rider aids along with the braking setup comprising Brembo-4-piston callipers armed to dual 320mm front discs and two-piston calliper associated to 220mm disc combo at the rear.
The Turismo gets a massive fuel tank of 21.5 litres capacity which is worthy for this sports tourer. But the low ground clearance of just 140mm can be a problem for the rider while off-roading.

There is good news for the buyers that the Lusso variant of the Turismo is being made available on order whereas the SCS variant is slated to make its way to Indian shores by next year. A question will be hovering in your mind that how the Lusso and SCS variants differ from the standard variant at feature front. So for your information, the Lusso variant gets a few added features like cruise control, luggage panniers and a Sachs USD forks. While the SCS variant which stands for Smart Clutch System avails riders with the clutchless operation of gears (upshifts and downshifts).
In its segment, the Turismo Veloce 800 will see the competition with the likes of the Triumph Tiger 800 XRx and the Multistrada 950, which are respectively priced at INR 13.39 lakh and INR 12.84 lakh. However, the Turismo (priced at INR 18.99 lakh) is much costlier than the above-mentioned models so it will seek competition with more expensive rivals in the price segment.
