North American International Auto Show (NAIAS 2017) has started in Detroit and Volkswagen on the following occasion has unveiled its all-new Tiguan All-Space in the US. Hinrich J. Worbcken, CEO of North American region, Volkswagen, at the event said, “Every detail of the Tiguan has been thoughtfully engineered for our U.S. customers to maximize space and convenience, while retaining its performance, agility, and value.”
The Chinese market, back in December officially unveiled the LWB Tiguan, a five-seater crossover. Now, the company has made its Tiguan 112mm longer than the five-passenger model and 272mm longer than the ongoing model in the market with 57-percent of more cargo capacity. The new 2018 Tiguan features the company’s DNA of clean and timeless design, for improvising the crossover’s utility to a lower lift-in height for the tailgate for off-road drives, and the MQB platform also delivers a wider and lower stance.
The interior of this new vehicle by the company is the center of attraction, as the new models are blessed with a refreshed design of interiors. It features a rhombus pattern for the cloth seats along with an optional Volkswagen Digital Cockpit Display, which provides you a reconfigurable display, capable of navigation data front and center for easy viewing.
The company also kept an eye on the safety measures and as a result, it gets a combination of both active and passive safety systems including the class-exclusive Automatic Post-Collision braking system. Furthermore, it is blessed with a panoramic sunroof to brighten the whole cabin along with foot-activated power liftgate, making the cargo space more accessible.
Powering the beauty is a 2.0-liter turbocharged and direct-injection TSI engine, which is capable of churning out 187 PS of maximum power output along with 300 NM of peak torque, with the help of an 8-speed transmission unit. Other amenities of the crossover includes Volkswagen's Car-Net system, Fender Premium Audio System, adaptive cruise control (ACC), front assist with pedestrian monitoring, blind spot mirror with rear traffic alert and lane assist.
