Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has launched the Maruti Alto 800 facelift in the Indian market at Rs. 2.49 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The car is seen in all-new green color avatar. The company has introduced the model in two colours, namely, Mojito Green and Cerulean Blue.
On the exterior part, the Alto 800 facelift gets all-new headlight clusters, a slimmer grille followed by a new front bumper along with foglight fitment in the lower corner. Maruti has not offered foglights in the entire lineup and also no other major changes have been found on the facelift versions exterior.
The interior has come up with a darker shade of grey that is available on the the door trims. The seat fabrics comes with new design elements as well. Additionally, all variants will receive a child lock on the rear door and the keyless entry feature will be available only on the top-end VXi trim level.
Under the hood, it gets the same 0.8-liter three-cylinder engine which is said to be available in CNG and petrol versions. However, the petrol variant has been tuned to offer better fuel efficiency. It is claimed to offer fuel efficiency of 24.77 km/l, which is around 9 percent better than the outgoing model, which delivered around 22.74 km/l. The CNG version is said to deliver a decent mileage of 33.44 km/kg.
On the safety counterpart, Alto 800 facelift continues with a standard driver airbag on all variants. It gets a 6.5-inch brake booster for better braking performance. Still missing on ABS. Overall, looking to the price and all, it’s good enough for the small car.
