If we spill the beans on the basis of the Indian automobile market report, then there are more possibilities that the next generation Ford Endeavour aka Ford Everest will hit the Indian shores in the second half of this ongoing year. Likely to be launched around August, it has already been seen while testing in our country with three distinct variants, which will be brought from Rayong plant (placed in Thailand) to Chennai via CKD route for assembly purpose. Its top end variant is expected to be equipped with an 8 inch touchscreen system alongside Ford's SYNC 2 infotainment, including sat-Nav and rear view camera.
The SUV will be available in 7 seat configuration, in which seats of the last two rows can be folded down to offer large boot space for its passengers. On the other hand, the regular versions are anticipated to comprise a plethora of superb features, such as push button start, assist to control ascent, adaptive cruise control, blind spot indicator and ESP. All these features are enough to render appreciable convenience and also quite impressive to keep its occupants safe while traveling.
Reportedly, the Endeavour will be powered by two diesel mill options, 2.2 litre and 3.2 litre. Both of these oil burner variants are expected to produce power of 148 bhp and 197 bhp, respectively.
While the former one seems to be paired to a 6-speed manual transmission, the latter one is probably to get a 6-speed automatic transmission. Conjectured to be priced between 18 Lac to 25 Lac, this vehicle will take on the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Honda CR-V and Hyundai Santa Fe.
