Recently, the budget people mover, Maruti Suzuki Eeco has received some new safety features. The major safety additions in the car include driver airbag, ABS, and reverse parking sensors. Apparently, in the past, Maruti Eeco has been critiqued by many car reviewers for its poor safety features. The addition of new safety fitments by Maruti has also come after the announcement of new safety norms in India for four-wheeled vehicles. From now on, all the variants of Maruti Suzuki will sport a driver and front passenger seat belt reminder and a speed alert system that will make buzz once the driver of the car crosses the speed limit of 80 kph. No mechanical or cosmetic changes were spotted in the upgraded version of the Maruti Suzuki Eeco, unlike the safety tweaks.

Keeping the budget and utilitarian positioning in mind, Maruti has also decided to flip aside when it comes to availability of power steering in the new safety feature packed Maruti Suzuki Eeco. This people mover from the house of Maruti also comes up with the long-standing G12B 1.2-litre petrol engine with 5-speed manual transmission facility. As usual, the Maruti Suzuki Eeco has five and seven-seat options and can also be opted by car lovers with a factory-fitted CNG option. This van is also sold as Tour V by Maruti in India which comes equipped with features like EMS and speed governor, tailored specifically for the cab and fleet operators.
