Lately the patent images of a 300cc sportbike from Japanese outfit, Suzuki has been revealed. It is an outcome that seems based on brand’s thinking of increasing popularity of sub 500cc sportbike as compared to the middleweight sportbikes. However, the company has option like the GSX250R in its basket but the availability of the other rivals such as the Yamaha YZF R3, Honda CBR250RR, KTM RC390 and more, pose a fierce competition to survive. This new project with a parallel-twin engine with the displacement of 300cc will help the bike maker in turning things in favour.
The arrival of a brand new 300cc parallel twin engine will provide the increased power and torque for which the company is looking forward. As the GSX-250R uses a 248cc engine with around 24.7 bhp and 23 Nm. the images reveal the underpinned chassis will be a tubular frame as like the trellis frame. The suspension setup could boast USD front fork and a rear monoshock. The braking seems to be handled by a single disc brake at the front wheel. While the rear will get a conventional aluminium swingarm, as expected.
The motorcycle’s all-new parallel twin 300cc engine is the major highlight that is expected to be the evolved iteration of Suzuki GSX-R150’s single with a reworked bore of 62mm and stroke of 48.1mm. This combination is likely to churn the power around 40bhp that will help in taking a fierce combat with the models like the R3, RC 390 and Honda CBR250RR.

In terms of appearance, the bike maker will follow the brand’s popular design language for the sports bike, as appears from the patent images. As the components like the headlamp and the seat resemble pretty much from the GSX-R125, the design philosophy will also be shared from the same.
The GSX-R300 public debut is likely at the EICMA Motorcycle Show this year. While the launch could happen by early next year. A naked 300cc could also be seen in the form of the Suzuki GSX-S300 if follows the waving around rumours. Indian debut of the Suzuki GSX-R300 is in darkness as the motorcycle is not going to launch anytime soon post its global debut.
