Some spied shots and rumors have hinted earlier that the Japanese auto major Toyota is actively working on the latest generation Camry and it will be unwrapped at the upcoming 2017 Detroit Motor Show. Ahead of its global premiere, the company has rendered a teaser of the same on online. The new teaser image, which shows a little more section of the rear quarter styling, is reported to be a sportier avatar of Toyota’s premium sedan.
Initially introduced as a four-door variant of the Toyota Celica in 1979, the Camry has completed its sixth generation in the automobile industry. The India-bound unit was first brought here in the shores in 2002 and since then the company has dispatched almost 10000 of units here in the country. It is currently running in the global market under the nameplate of the seventh generation and has already welcomed a facelift treatment as well.
With the increasing demand among the buyers tend the automaker to introduce a new-gen of such unit. Toyota has already started testing of 2017 Camry for quite a long time and now it is ready to take curtains off from the car next month. If the media reports are to be believed, it will house changes over both the exterior as well as interior. Spied shots of the prototype being tested globally have given some idea about its styling with features some alluring character line, larger windows and door-mounted mirrors.
Moreover, as the car is going to be based on the design of Toyota’s TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform that currently underpins the latest generation Toyota Prius hybrid, it might share some styling with this one. Instead of such teaser, there is no such information about the Camry’s design and offerings has been revealed yet, however, we can believe the new Camry with eye-catching looks, comfortable cabin, and powertrain options with an excellent ride quality that are much frugal and fuel efficient.

Under the hood, the next-gen Camry will possibly come up with updated trims of its existing ones. Although, as reports suggest, it could share a 2.0-litre turbo motor with its upmarket sibling, the Lexus IS sedan. This will be offered side by side a slightly upgraded version of the naturally aspirated 2.5-litre, four-cylinder engine, which is currently available in the India bound unit.
