Ahead of commencing the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show from September, Opel has promulgated some of the features of its 11th generation Astra. There is a bad news for the Indians that yet, the manufacturer hasn't made any kind of plan to introduce this model again in the Indian car market, where its production has been stopped since 2003. Last month, the CEO of Opel gave a confirmation that the model will have an awesome design language with a wraparound rear windscreen to render the most beautiful aspect for the customers in order to make it more effective than its predecessor.
Based on the D2 architecture of the GM, the upcoming Astra or the Astra K will save the weight around 120 kg and will be 49 mm shorter in length, 26 mm lower as well as will get 23 mm of reduced wheelbase as compared to its outgoing variant. On the other hand, inside the cabin, this hatchback will have a more spacious environment than the old one to confer admirable comfort and convenience for its passengers.
However, Opel hasn't spread light beneath the skin of the runabout, but it's expected to be powered by a 1.4 litre turbocharged petrol engine to produce power of 143 bhp, which will be transferred to its wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission system.
This new forthcoming Opel Astra will be the first one in its league to receive the OnStar connected service that will have the capacity to work continually, such as 24 hours in one day, which means that it can be used 365 days in a year.
