Ahead of screening out globally on July 17, 2015 in Thailand, the next generation Toyota Fortuner has been leaked out on the website with the name headlightmag.com. It gets much better features than before alongside more captivating look, comfy interior and new powertrains that are undoubtedly enough to make anyone glad at the first time in knowing. In Thailand, Toyota will offer its five variants, 2.4G 4X2, 2.4V 4X2, 2.8V 4X2, 2.8V 4X4 and 2.7V 4X2. Total three engine options will be available beneath the skin, a 2.4 litre four cylinder diesel, 2.8 litre diesel and a 2.7 litre four cylinder VVT-i petrol.
The former GD oil burner unit produces a maximum power of 150 bhp and a peak torque of 343 Nm, whereas the latter diesel variant churns out two output states, 177 bhp, 420 Nm and 177 bhp with 450 Nm. Coming to the petrol version, which is good in making the output of 122 bhp and 245 Nm. Two transmission choices will be present in this SUV, such as a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. Only its top end 2.8V version will include an optional 4X4 drive system.
As per the market report, the upcoming Fortuner will receive impressive equipments, such as start/stop button, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution), brake assist, vehicle stability control system, knee airbags, emergency light system, hill assist control and smart key system with keyless entry.
Presumed to be priced between INR 20 Lac to INR 25 Lac in the Indian car market, the next generation Toyota Fortuner will drop the likes of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Chevrolet Captiva, Hyundai Santa Fe and the forthcoming Ford Endeavour.
