The Classic Legends Pvt. Ltd which is a Mahindra owned brand got its two Motorcycles Jawa and Jawa forty-two, launched last year. As per the interviews with the Management officials and the media release, it could be speculated that the Company has received splendid orders and are all set to fulfil the requirement of its customers. However, booking numbers have not been yet revealed.
The Online bookings for Jawa Motorcycles have already been closed across India till Sep 2019. So, on a clear note, if one wishes to book a Jawa now, he would have to book it through a dealership. Likewise, deliveries for the Jawa, booked in Nov 2018, would start by start by April 2019. The person booking it now would be getting the delivery 6-9 months from hence. Kerala is the State which has witnessed the highest number of bookings last year. Anupam Thareja, the co-founder of Classic Legends, at the occasion of the inauguration of Kochi dealership while talking to the New Indian Express said that it is due to the heavy response of the Customers from Kerala that the option for closing the bookings would be considered for the time being.

He further said that most of the customers are from Kochi and Kozhikode and are the youths lying between the age group 23-29. He said that the entire Classic Legends’ family would be thoroughly busy till October 2019 covering this huge order. The production capacity currently is full as of now and the unit is not in the position to accept any further demand. As per a prior report, the Jawa is aiming to sell about 7,500 units per month in its initial year. Now, since it has been revealed that Kerala has been one of the biggest markets for Jawa, its rivals like Royal Enfield and others would have tied their shoelaces to capture the target market.
Anupam Thareja, talked about ‘Jawa Perak’ which is left behind in the blow of the massive demands for the Jawa twins - Jawa and Jawa forty two. He said that Jawa Perak is also one of the best products from Classic Legends unveiled last year and the production for which is rescheduled for later part of this year whereas, earlier, the news was that ‘Perak’s production would commence in June-July 2019 and deliveries would start September 2019. After a long wait by the Jawa fans, the time has come to ride their favourite bike as finally, the deliveries would commence this month. The customers opting dual-channel ABS has a long wait time, i.e, till June 2019. Notification regarding the deliveries would be sent by the respective dealers to their customers.
Looking at the details of the much liked Jawa and Jawa forty-two, the two models were launched last year at Rs 1,64,000 and Rs 1,55,000 respectively. Later, the specification quality and the safety of the bike got increased by the addition of rear disc and dual-channel ABS and subsequently, the pricing got hiked. The new increased price for Jawa and Jawa forty two are Rs 1,72,942 and Rs 1,63,942 respectively. The Company Classic Legends is focussing on a quick expansion of Jawa dealerships across the country to reach the milestone of 100 dealerships. The focus is also kept at increasing the production capacity at its Madhya Pradesh plant so as to meet the growing demand in future.
