The renowned Italian two-wheeler maker, Piaggio, displayed its upcoming sports scooter-bike, Aprilia SR 150 at the ongoing Delhi Auto Expo 2016. The showcased model is a blend of motorbikes and scooter as it sports 14-inch wheels, like motorbikes and auto-gear like scooters. The Piaggio flagship incorporates 150cc engine and is set to hit the Indian market in August 2016.
The Piaggio two-wheeler crossover Aprilia SR 150 aims to attract young Indian riders, who are up for the sensation of a sportbike and the comfort of a scooter. Stefan Pell, Chief Executive of the Piaggio India, said, "Piaggio India is once again set to carve out a new category in the premium two wheeler segment with Aprilia SR 150". He further elaborates," the company is aiming to cater to the desire of the discerning youth of India and crossover sports-scooter bike is designed to appeal to those looking for the sensation of a sports bike and the convenience of an automatic scooter in their daily city commute".
Apart from Aprilia, The Piaggio group also unveiled vehicles from their Vespa and Moto Guzzi brands, at the 13th Delhi Auto Expo.
