As the market space in the 250-400cc displacement motorcycle segment has a vast room to expand, the Italian motor vehicle manufacturer, Piaggio is pondering to roll out their upcoming products in the same for the Indian market. Piaggio India’s new MD, Diego Graffi has also confirmed the same. The segment was into his consideration since long as there is a huge opportunity of growth and only countable manufacturers are present.
The range of motorcycles which has been provided by the company as of now consists high-displacement products from brands like Aprilia and Moto Guzzi. The company is now aiming to cater the growing demand of mid-capacity motorcycles across the world.
With its models like the Aprilia RS150 and Touno 150 showcased early this year, the brand went through the market research to find out the response and reactions of the audience for these mentioned models. The result was positive and the brand decided to develop these bikes for the Indian crowd. The top-honcho has also announced the bikes' production will take place in India. And, when it comes to the production of 250-400cc motorcycle, a high degree of localization will take place in brand’s manufacturing unit established in India.
Besides, the Piaggio is rolling out a range of volume generator products for the Indian markets such as the Aprilia SR150, which was followed by the SR125. Later on, the SR 125 Strom is lined up to mark its presence later this year in adieu to serve a wider customer base.
