The Italian automobile maker, Piaggio India will introduce a new stylish scooter, Vespa on 1st September, 2015 in Mumbai. Likely the current model of the vespa has been given heavy cosmetic updates. Till now, the Piaggio has not announced any update of the new range of the scooter.
Presently, the company sells its existing Vespa models as LX 125, VX 125, S and the Elegante across India. All scooters are manufactured on the same platform and in-housed with 125cc engine, which produces a maximum power of 10 BHP at 7500 RPM and maximum torque 10.6Nm at 6000 RPM.
Recently, the Piaggio India has presented the first scooter which incorporates a 300cc engine named Vespa GTS300, in the event of India Bike Week 2015. The upcoming scooter will in-housed with a liquid-cooled, fuel injected, four stroke, single cylinder and 278cc engine, which produces the maximum power of 21.1 BHP and maximum torque 22.3Nm. The Incredible engine is mated with a CVT gearbox which helps the transmission the speed the rear wheel. The braking duties are managed by the 220mm disc brake, which enhances the braking experience. The scooter will be launched with ABS.
The Vespa GTS300 will touch the one lakh price mark. The vehicle may become a brand building product of Piaggio and most selling scooter in the Indian two wheeler market.
