Following the success of Cayenne SUV, Porsche had come up with a new and top-of-the-line model in India, the Macan. Despite being smaller in size from the Cayenne, it was much appreciated by the buyers for its picturesque design and agile quality. With a view to seize more sales in the country, now the automaker has brought a new powerful variant of the same with some additional performance package at a price of INR 1.41 Crore (Ex-showroom). The package sports enormous upgrades over the engine, brakes and suspension.
After going through an update, the twin-turbo, 3.6-litre V6 engine is capable of running the car with slightly more power of 40 Bhp and 36 lb-ft of torque. Currently, the engine is tuned to leave behind the competitors with an overall power of 440 horsepower along with 442 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, it can also sprint the unit from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.4 seconds rather 4.8 seconds with a regular Macan version. Top speed has also been soared up by 6 km/h and accounts for 272 km/h. The engine is packed with a seven-speed PDK double clutch transmission box. All wheel drive option is standard like the other Macan variant.
Furthermore, the list of upgrades also comprises a newly designed brake system integrated with larger front disc and six-piston callipers that has been painted in red color. An updated Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system is also there to control the damping force for all the axles, no matter how bad the condition of terrain is. Besides, the ride height of the beast has also been lowered by 10 mm.
To discriminate the performance model from others, some tweaks have also been made over the design under the moniker of Turbo Exterior Package. It includes 21-inch wheels sourced from 911 Turbo, LED headlights and high-gloss black trim and some other. Inside the cabin, it flaunts black painted leather upholstery along with Alcantara elements, carbon fibre and color appliqué materials.
