Porsche has launched the new Macan 2.0-litre in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 76.13 lakh, ex-showroom price. According to several reports, the bookings have already started and the deliveries shall be taking place by the end of this year.
In India, we already have two variants of the lineup named Porsche Macan Turbo and Macan Diesel S. But, due to some reasons these models couldn’t do well. Now, the new Macan houses a lesser capacity engine and is claimed to offer better fuel economy and performance.
The variant features a 2.0-litre turbo-charged petrol engine which produces a maximum power of 252PS at 5,000-6,000rpm and a peak torque of 370Nm at 1,600 and 4,500rpm. The engine comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission under all-wheel drive system. The carmaker claims that the car sprints 0-100kmph in 6.7 seconds. It is tuned to achieve a top speed of up to 229kmph.
Meanwhile, it has also been found that the previous models were priced relatively higher than the new Macan and it comes with a huge price difference. The Macan Diesel S is available at a price of Rs 1.02 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi), which turns out to be costlier by Rs 4 lakh in comparison to the Porsche Cayenne Diesel. Now, the new Macan can be a better deal for consumers looking for a lower capacity engine along with good fuel economy.
Somewhere, this entry-level Macan completes the line-up now. The Porsche Macan will be competing with the prominent rival such a Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG, which comes at Rs 75.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
