Considering the fault with steering assembly, Renault has arranged to contact owners of the Kwid 0.8-litre. This is the voluntary service campaign where the company will observe the steering assembly and change it with the new one if some fault found, at free of cost.
The Renault, although, has not mentioned which cars are affected by the faulty steering issue. The company is calling to the owners of the expected car models and requesting them to take their hatchback to the nearest centre for observation. Till now, it is not clarified from the company that the 1.0-litre units of the car is affected or not. But as both the iterations take the same electrically assisted steering rack, it is advisable for the Kwid 1.0L owners to contact the nearest service centres also.

The 0.8-litre Kwid is powered by a 799cc, 3-cylinder engine which is able to churn out a maximum power of 54PS at 5678 rpm and a maximum torque of 72 Nm at 4386 rpm. The engine of the car comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission box.
Another option also offers the Kwid which is powered by a 1.0-litre engine
But if you are looking for something more powerful and effortless to drive in the city, the Kwid also comes with a 3-cylinder 1.0-litre engine which generates a maximum power of 68PS at 5500 rpm and a peak torque of 91 Nm at 4250 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and also available as an option of AMT (automated manual transmission).
The Renault Kwid is the only car in this segment carrying a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Further, it is paired with two speakers placed dashboard. The hatchback takes a fully-digital instrument cluster. The Kwid does not involve traditional gear lever with AMT like other car models which take similar gearbox. Although, the option to select drive modes is available. It makes extra storage space by lacking a gear lever between the front passenger seats and the driver.

Recently launched new edition from Renault Kwid, the ‘Live For More 2018 Reloaded Edition’ is available with a price tag of Rs. 2.67 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and available with both the 1.0-litre and 0.8-litre engine choices. The special edition from the company takes cosmetic updates like new ‘Speedster’ graphics on the bonnet, chrome inserts on the grille, side panels on the doors and further on tailgates. It also comes equipped with the roof rails which are visible on the Climber edition and bright lime graphics placed at the wheel covers and the ORVMs (outside rearview mirrors). You can also notice ‘Live For More’ stickers placed on the doors whereas a reverse parking sensor is available as standard in the hatchback.
The Kwid go against the competitors like the Datsun Redi-GO and the Maruti Suzuki Alto.
