Launched back in 2013, Royal Enfield Continental GT 535 was the flagship product for the Chennai based bikemaker. The company was expecting a lot from this cafe racer style motorcycle, that was inspired from the 60s and 70s models. However, it managed to receive appreciations like the IMOTY(Indian Motorcycle of the Year ) nevertheless, the motorcycle did not get succeeded to leave that mark in the heart of RE lovers.

The motorcycle’s sales figures demonstrate the complete story. The year GT535 launched, it managed to sales an average of about 150 units monthly. Later in November 2017, with a huge downfall, the automaker recorded just 3 units. it was 26 units in October, 66 in September and 76 in July. As per the recently surfaced reports, the continuous fall in sales is not the reason behind its discontinuity sooner. Actually, an all-new Continental GT 650 is set to launch . for the first time, it was showcased in front of the audience at the 2017 EICMA.
The Continental GT 650 houses a 535cc, fuel injected, air cooled single cylinder engine. In association with a five-speed gearbox transmission, the mill is capable of generating the peak power of 29.1bhp and the peak torque of 44Nm. The motorcycle stands on conventional front forks and Paioli gas charged twin shock absorbers at the rear. Whereas it runs on 18 inches spoke wheels with Pirelli Sport Demon tyres.
