Today, a long wait has over as finally the Royal Enfield has unveiled its most awaited first adventure tourer bike-Himalayan. As per the reports, the firm has not disclosed the price of the bike but it to be sold at a expected price tag of INR 1.60 Lakhs. The tourer bike will go on sale by March in the country. The completely new motorcycle is developed for those rides who want to take a long ride, no matter the distance or terrains.
Talking about its design, the Royal Enfield Himalayan gives look adventure tourer as its mostly components are high mounted like front mud-guard, exhaust. Being a tourer bike, it gets an ample seat height. The Himalayan receives a semi digital instrument panel that includes a host information as speedometer, odometer, tachometer, altimeter and compass. Other noteworthy features of the bikes are off-road tyres, long travel suspension at front suspensions, transparent air shield, LED tail lights, spilt up seats, fragile fuel tank, upsweft exhaust and spoke wheels. The bike runs on 21-inch front and 17-inch CEAT tyres to manage tough terrains.
Now come on the mechanical side, the RE Himalayan houses a 411cc, oil-cooled, SOHC engine that generates 24.5 BHP of power and a peak torque of 32 Nm. The power-plant is paired to a five speed transmission. The firm claims that service intervals are at 10,000 Kms. The adventure motorcycle is built on a chassis that is designed by the Harris Performance Parts. It is the first product from the RE that is equipped with mono-shock suspension at rear end. The braking duties are managed by dual disc brakes. It is not incorporated the ABS system. The Royal Enfield is available in two colors as Black and White.
