Skoda, subsidiary of Volkswagen group is about to make a big move with hybrid and electric cars. The leading role will be played by the plug-in hybrid variant of the flagship sedan, the Superb. While announcing the annual report for 2017-2018, a Czech automobile manufacturer has mentioned that the PHEV Superb will be introduced in 2019 along with a fully electric car from the plant in Kvasiny in the Czech Republic.
Reports also mention that this hybrid Superb is powered by a 1.4-litre mill generating 154bhp of power and an electric motor producing 114bhp of power. Overall, the car will be able to deliver 268bhp of power and a seven-speed DSG.
It is expected that this PHEV Superb will be available with a facelift as the update is due for next year. The Kvasiny Plant is in focus to execute EV plans for being a remake to provide facilities for the production of electric cars and will be made to operate properly in time to manufacture the PHEV Superb.
