Skoda Superb Estate Is Now Bomb and Bullet Proof

Skoda is always known for manufacturing safe, reliable and strong vehicles. Now combining efforts of three-years and putting lot more in testing, development, and planning, now the company has finally come up with a bomb and bulletproof version of the Superb Estate.

It is developed in joint venture project of Skoda and converter (UK-based). However, the newly developed Superb Estate is very similar to the standard version yet it offers blast and bullet protection. The Skoda Superb Estate is available with a price tag of Rs. £118,688 ( Rs. 1.06 crore). Amazingly, some Governors of India own the new Skoda Superb in their motorcade. The armored version takes inspiration from the standard 2.0 TDI 188bhp Superb Estate, although the exact information about the new model is not revealed yet.

In addition, the passenger cell of the new model has been solidified in order to sustain the blast and ballistic protection and meet PAS 300 requirements. The certification was attached as a result of some independent test facility involving exposure to blast, firing various ammunition and fragmentation threats. The braking and suspension system of the new version has been upgraded in order to meet the additional weight requirement of the car, whereas the suspension makes sure careful handling at high speeds.

So, basically, it is a well-formulated effort from Skoda to make Superb Estate safe to the extent that it is very tough to harm the occupants inside the car.
