Skoda, a Czech automobile manufacturing firm has made some significant announcements to have a stormy comeback in the Indian automobile market. The company is planning to focus on new products, with the investment of Rs. 100 crore on the after sales side. The Czech firm reported of making 3 moves in the market at first but, recently the firm committed 4 new products in its product portfolio that will be launched in the Indian market by the end of 2017.
The first two products are the all new flagship full-size SUV Kodiak and the very stunning and ravishing RS variant of Octavia. Apart from these, the other two cars are from range Skoda calls ‘Action Models’ named- the Octavia black Edition and the Rapid Monte Carlo Edition. The cars have been designed keeping the safety part in mind. Skoda has made dual airbags standard in all the models by now and will make ABS standard by the end of this year.
The next initiative is to address the context of the negative perception that Skoda has in the sales area. All of the Skoda models will get a 4-year/100,000 warranty as standard across all the models. The customers will also be provided Roadside assistance for 4 years at no extra cost.
This will make the servicing cost uniform across the whole country and customers will be able to select the services they want from a basket of services. According to the company, the cars will be delivered post servicing the same day they come for regular servicing maintenance.

At last, Skoda has also introduced an application for their car owners. With the help of that application, the users will be able to have a look at their servicing records and roadside assistance will also be provided by the application.
Sudhir Rao, MD Skoda India said, “It will not be easy to unwind the perception that’s gradually built up over 15 years. But Skoda is hoping to have a significant shift in its position over the next 6 months. The company will close the 2016 year calendar with just over 15,000 units sold. But in 2017, our target will be sales over 20,000 units”
