The Suzuki Motorcycle India has introduced the Access 125 Special Edition in the brand’s existing lineup. This special edition model also gets the trendy safety feature for scooters, the Combined Braking System (CBS). For this iteration, the company is asking the retail price of INR 60,580 (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi) that makes it a premium offering over the Suzuki Access 125 CBS, priced at INR 59,980. All the prices are exclusively applicable at authorised dealerships. In addition to that, the Access 125 SE CBS is being offered in a new colour option of Metallic Sonic Silver that contrast pretty well with the beige coloured leatherette seat.
Speaking about the new Suzuki Access 125 Special Edition, Suzuki - EVP, Sales and Marketing, Sajeev Rajasekharan said, "The Access 125 has been one of the best-performing scooters not only in its segment but is also a pioneer in the industry. It offers a blend of power, economy and premium appeal. The new CBS update on the Access 125 further improves the value proposition. Suzuki is committed to improving and innovating its products to offer best quality products to our customers. We are confident that with the new enhancements, we will be able to add many more customers to the Suzuki family."
Cosmetically, the changes which are witnessed in the new Suzuki Access 125 Special Edition is the black-finished alloy wheels and grab rail. In addition to this, the scooter features retro-styled round shaped chrome mirrors and a logo emblem which differentiate it from the standard version. Furthermore, the company will roll out two new colour options of Metallic Matte Black and Pearl Mirage White for the standard Access 125.
The CBS unit on the Suzuki Access 125 ensures the safety of the rider and pillion by equally distributing power to both wheels with a single press of the left lever. It not only reduces the stopping distance post braking but also ends up the threat of skid while harsh braking. However, the CBS is not that precise to ABS in braking but it is a cost-effective option with an almost similar facility.
Mechanically, no modification is observed in the special edition Access 125 CBS. The scooter is still continued with the same 124cc single-cylinder engine that has been tuned to generate improved power of 8.5bhp along with 10.2Nm of torque. A telescopic front fork and a single-shock unit at the rear completes the suspension setup of the scooter. Whereas the braking is handled by a disc brake at front and a drum brake at the rear wheel.
Furthermore, there are a host of features which are common fitments in the standard and the special edition Access 125 CBS. Including alloy wheels, semi-digital instrument console, front pocket storage, one push central lock system and DC socket as an optional extra. Furnished with all the above-mentioned equipment, the scooter weighs 102 kg (kerb weight).
Besides, the Suzuki Access 125 CBS is available to choose from a range of six colour including Candy Sonoma Red, Pearl Suzuki Deep Blue, Glass Sparkle Black, Metallic Sonic Silver, Metallic Fibroin Gray, and Pearl Mirage White. Also, the company is set to introduce the Burgman Street 125 by the end of this year to compete in the 125cc premium scooter segment.
