Gixxer to Launch Officially, Suzuki Working on Faired Version As Well

The Suzuki has fastened the seat belts for Gixxer’s launch scheduled for 9th September. Just 2 days to go for the upcoming naked performance commuter to pump up the roads with vrooming sound. The motorbike will be competing directly with the likes of Yamaha FZ, FZ FI, Hero Xtreme, Honda CB Trigger, Bajaj Pulsar, TVS Apache etc. It’s been a fact that the naked look and complete design of the bike resemble at many spots with Yamaha’s children. And, this probably has been understood by the company as they have made up their plan to shore down a partially faired version of their upcoming bike to compete with the Yamaha Fazer.

Suzuki Gixxer has been made available for pre launch booking. The bike is priced for Rs. 81,450 on road Jaipur and Rs. 79,957 On road Delhi. There were a lot of rumours concerning the launch of this bike, which started fading once the official announcement from the company has been made. The Gixxer will be holding Suzuki’s 154.9cc single cylinder petrol engine. The power developed by the same will be 14.8PS with a hefty 14Nm of torque revolving at 8000RPM and 6000RPM respectively.

The overall weight of the bike is around 135 KG and the faired will definitely be ranging a bit more. Compared to other bikes in the category, this bike is 2nd lightest model after FZ FI, which bears 132 KG.  The adversary from Yamaha is available in two engine options. The 153 cc air cooled engine receives the fuel via the carburetor and develops 14PS of power along with 13.6Nm of torque, the second one is a fuel injected one with 149cc displacement and develops 13.1PS of power with 12.8Nm of torque.

Gixxer’s fairing will not affect the performance of the bike as the sources suggest. Just like the Fazer and FZ, Suzuki’s contender will also be used for regular and touring purpose but will cost a tad higher than that of the regular version.
