Since its debut at the 2016 Auto Expo, Tata Hexa SUV has been captured on several occasion. While the launch of the car has been scheduled for January 2017, a list of features including safety and interior had already been surfaced online through an official Facebook group of the unit. Moreover, the carmaker has also unveiled some information about the model that confirmed about automatic transmission box, driving modes and all wheel drive facility. Finally, the company has also opened an advanced booking for the vehicle at a token amount of INR 11,000.
Based on the company’s existing Aria platform upcoming Tata Hexa SUV will be available in six different variants that enlisted in the next section:
Tata Hexa XE (7-seater)
Tata Hexa XM (7-seater)
Tata Hexa XT (6- or 7-seater)
Tata Hexa XMA (7-seater)
Tata Hexa XTA (6-seater)
Tata Hexa XT 4x4 (6-seater)
Under the hood, it will be powered by a 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine which is underpinning the new Safari Storme. The base variant of the Hexa house the Varicor 320 which makes out 148 Bhp of power at 4,000 rpm and 320 Nm at 1,700 - 2,700 rpm, while the Varicor 400 motor will be offered with higher trim that is capable enough to run the machine with a huge power of 154 Bhp at 4,000 rpm and a peak of 400 Nm of torque at the same. The power will be transmitted to the rear wheels only with the choice of a 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox, while AWD is also available as an option.
The automatic gearbox setup consists of four driving mode such as Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road. These modes will come up with both All Wheel Drive (AWD) and 2-Wheel Drive trims. All the driving modes will work along with the engine management system and Electronic Stability Programme (EBS), which further helps in spotting the driving conditions in Auto mode. While in Comfort mode the power output and gearshifts mainly focus on offering a trouble-free driving experience. The Rough mode will enable your car to stay on the track while driven on the off-road conditions.
In terms of the Dimension, the all new Hexa SUV measures 4,788 mm in length, 1,903 mm in width and 1,791 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2850 mm. Besides, it has a decent ride height of 200 mm and fuel tank of capacity 60-litre. Since the Hexa is the premium offering from the company, it will sport all the contemporary and smart techs.
Inside the cabin, it gets ambience theme and seven-seat and six-seat unique configuration. For further enhancing the comfort, it also sports dual-zone climate control, third-row occupants, separate AC vents for second and an 8-way adjustable driver seat. Other technology features are - a 5.0-inch smart infotainment system, 10-speaker audio package from JBL, smartphone-based navigation system, 3.5-inch colour TFT display in the instrument cluster and reverse parking sensor.
