The rapidly growing SUV market in the Indian automobile industry will witness the arrival of a new SUV from the Tata Motors in 2018. The SUV which has been under pipeline from a long time, is codenamed as Q501. The details for this new Tata Q501 SUV has been confirmed and surfaced online.
At the SIAM annual conclave in Delhi, the Managing Director of Tata Motors, Mr. Guenter Butschek has revealed that this new Tata Q501 SUV will be the next flagship of the carmaker following the Tata Nexon launch later this month. He further revealed the detailings of the SUV that it will be manufactured on the older yet capable Freelander 2 chassis. The SUV will be offer in two options of 5 seater or a 7 seater.
As per the Guenter Butschek, the new SUV will be designated as a 'midsized SUV' in the Indian automotive market. Other than this, the new SUV will feature all-wheel-drive system and a pair of petrol and diesel engines to know its horns with the likes of Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson along with larger SUVS including the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour.
Moreover, Tata Motors has already showcased its upmarket abilities with the interiors of the Hexa and the Nexon and the new SUV is also expected to follow the same with a package full of high tech features.
