Tata Motors is all set to introduce AMT variants of its lately launched subcompact SUV Nexon in the Indian lineup by the end of February or early March next year. As reported by Team BHP, the Nexon with AMT will be rolled out in both the diesel and petrol variants.
Entitled as the Tata Nexon XZA, the AMT variant will go into commercial production in January 2018. While the media cars of the model will hit the dealerships in next month onwards. The Tata Nexon automatic variant will be mated to a 6-speed AMT unit instead of a 5-speed gearbox being provided with the rest of Tata’s AMT models in the lineup.
In color options, the Tata Nexon AMT will get an extra shade codenamed as ‘Mari Gold’ in addition to the available set of five colour options. As of now, the Nexon is being offered in XE, XM, XT and XZ+ trims and the unavailability of XZ trim is not hinting whether the XZA trim will be furnished with the similar features of the XZ+ or will miss a slew of features to keep the price in check.

Moreover, it has also been found from the information shared by Team BHP that a new Sunroof option will also be added to the accessories list of Nexon.
An idea from the difference between the price sticker of manual and automatic variants of Tiago and Tigor suggest that the Nexon AMT will be priced around INR 9 lakh for the petrol trim and INR 9.90 lakhs for the diesel variant.
The initial customer response for the Tata Nexon is positive from the Indian car buyers as the brand has received the total bookings of 15,000 for the compact SUV with the waiting period of around three months. In order to reduce the waiting period, the automaker has scaled up the production of the model that will also help the carmaker in getting prepared for the forthcoming AMT variants.
