Tata Motors has unveiled a teaser image of Tata Tigor Sport variant. This Tigor compact Sedan variant is about to introduce at Auto Expo 2018 in a line with the Tiago sportier version hatchback.
The teaser image reveals only small detailing about car’s front end, indicates a remarkably revised package for the performance-based car. As seen in the image, Tata Tigor Sport accommodates housing for decorated elements along with contrasting red detailing and the fog lamps on the bumper. By extent, we hope the front bumpers to feature a large air dam which certainly renders the cars a more updated aggressive look.
It is expected that Tata’s Impact 2.0 design language will come with more pronounced detailing. A mild body kit and side skirts addition on a visual side will make the sportier Tigor and Tiago different from the everyday versions. Sportier alloy wheels addition will make the look more revealing in relation to comfortable riding with expected upsize 15-inch rims in the Tigor variant. The larger 15-inch rims are newly fitted with the Tiago Sport which is not available on the standard car models from the company.

The lower suspensions of the car will also prove to be helpful. Tata Motors along with partner Jayem Auto, which takes the responsibility of development work, will work with updated suspension package as well, finish with stiffer springs by providing more engrossing driving experience. As a result, ground clearance will be lower than the standard variant of the cars.
The new Tata Tigor Sport is powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine from the Nexon. The power and torque detailings in Tiago and Tigor sport will be revealed at the time of launch at Auto Expo 2018 but as expected the engine will be able to churn out a maximum power of a Nexon-matching 110hp and a peak torque of 170 Nm. The engine of both cars will come equipped with the Nexon’s six-speed manual gearbox.
Although the interior specs are not revealed yet, we can expect a more premium material, presume sportier color themes, and bespoke detailing which will assist the car to make difference on the inside from other car models.
It is expected that the Tigor Sport and Tiago Sport will take ‘JTP’ which is a collaboration of Jayem, Tata Motors, and performance, and it will be helpful in making Tata Motors’ performance division in a perfect shape. Moreover, the information about when the models will go on sale is also not available.
Initially, Tata has previously told about the performance derivatives of Sport hatchback from the time when the Indica launched and that time even Bolt Sport was under construction as well, but finally, these products are in line to launch as their production is completed and about to launch at Delhi Auto Expo 2018.
