Tata Zest and Bolt on Sale in Sri Lanka

The homegrown auto maker, Tata Motors has set up its two most noteworthy cars, Zest compact sedan and Bolt hatchback in the Sri Lankan automobile market in the joint venture with Diesel & Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO) based in Sri Lanka. Both of these runabouts have already been making tremendous sputter on the Indian auto market since their very first time introduction. Considering the demand and positive response of these models in India, the manufacturer thought to expand their prominence in other countries, including Sri Lanka.

The Head International Business of Passenger Vehicles at Tata Motors, Johnny Oommen, said, “These two cars, loaded with many segment-leading features, are built to global design and product standards and will appeal equally to the first time buyers as well as existing automobile owners looking for a new and exciting product.”

Tata Zest

A 1.2 litre four cylinder Revotron turbocharged petrol mill and a 1.3 litre Fiat sourced Multijet diesel engine power both of the cars. Mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, the former one makes power of 90 PS and torque of 140 Nm. Whereas, the latter one is capable of producing power of 90 PS and torque of 200 Nm on the Zest compact sedan, it churns out the output of 75 PS and 190 Nm on the Bolt hatchback.

Tata Bolt

This mill is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission for both ones, while the Zest is also coupled to an F-Tronic 5-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). For Revotron petrol mill option, the compact sedan and hatchback have been priced at LKR 2,810,000 and LKR 2,299,000 (ex-showroom, Colombo), respectively. However, the Tata Zest with diesel AMT choice gets the starting price tag of LKR 3,900,000 (ex-showroom, Colombo).
