Tata Motors had planned to unveil the upcoming hatch codenamed Kite in Goa on Dec 1. However, much to everyone's surprise, the images got leaked online. These spy shots not only revealed the exterior elements, but also disclosed that the car is named Zica. Probably this is the reason that the company has unveiled the hatchback officially in images on the internet. Reportedly, it derives its name from Zippy Car as per the company claims. It will be displayed in front of media later this week. And its launch is likely to take place in the first week of January.
Zica is based on Indica's platform that has been revised to a great extent. The new model is likely to replace the age old Indica in the passenger vehicle segment. Further, it will be positioned below Bolt and will target the likes of Maruti Celerio, Chevrolet Beat, Hyundai i10, etc. on the outside, it receives a mesh grille highlighted by chrome, smoked head lights, fog lamps, alloy wheels and window defogger, rear spoiler and much more.

Talking about the cabin, the all new Zica is going to be equipped with a host of modern features like 2 DIN music system, three-spoke steering wheel with audio controls mounted on it, chrome accents at certain portions and rear seat headrests. Components like ABS, EBD and dual front airbags can also be fitted as standard facility. Mechanically, we can expect an all new 1.2 litre petrol and a 1.05 litre diesel engine options under the hood.
