The very prominent launch of Royal Enfield has taken place today. Finally, the brand's first motorcycle with a new 413cc engine, RE Himalayan has made its Indian debut at Rs. 1.55 lakh (ex-showroom, India). With the launch, Royal Enfield has walked into the world of adventure touring, leaving back its historical culture of manufacturing only cruisers. The Himalayan is going to be the first entry-level motorcycle in the segment, which is budget-friendly as well. Siddharth Lal, CEO Royal Enfield and Eicher Motors, has put on their words while announcing the tourer.
Defining the future plans, he put a limelight on the strategies that the company is proposing to be done later. It is all geared up to establish a third manufacturing plant in Vallam Vadagal. There's an official claim from the company that the Oragadam manufacturing unit builds one motorcycle per minute. Presently, the bike manufacturer covers beyond 500 dealerships across different cities of the country.
Bookings for RE Himalayan will be starting from tomorrow onwards and deliveries for the same will get started by the end of March. Black and White are the two color schemes in which the bike will be available at the dealerships soon. As of now, there is no significant competition perceptible in the market, but Mahindra Mojo seems quite closer when we look at the price factor.
