Less than a couple of months after an official debut at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, Toyota Innova Crysta has become quite the sensation across all the buyers. There was a buzz of rumours out there for its official launch that has now been cleared by a fresh report. The much-awaited diesel version will be launched in the Indian car market on May 3, 2016, while the deliveries will be commenced from May 13, 2016.

The booking had been started at some selected dealership just after the showcased in February at Auto Expo at a token amount of INR 40,000. For now, the carmaker is likely to start the official booking from the next month with a booking fare of INR 50,000.
Those who don't know, the car has been first introduced with two diesel engine options. It includes a 2.4-litre GD engine, generating 149 PS and 342 Nm of output, as well as the another one get propelled by a bigger motor of a 2.8-litre GD motor that churns out 177 PS. Both the units are coupled to a 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission. Besides, Toyota is also set to offer Innova Crysta with a 2.0-litre petrol engine choice in future to manage the Delhi diesel ban issue.

Talking about the design, it is based on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform. Also, it comes with slightly higher dimensions as compared to the earlier version that measure 4,735 mm long, 1,830 mm wide, 1,795 mm tall and a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. In addition, it gets bold front fascia along with redesigned hexagonal grille, bumper, dual slat chrome grille and headlamps with DRLs.
Unlike the exterior, the cabin has also been updated with the new infotainment system, steering wheel mounted with buttons and a blush ambient light. Once launched it will hit the markets of the other cars like Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Honda Mobilio and other MPV models.
