2018 Triumph Speed Triple RS Explained

A few days ago, the much awaited updated range of Speed Triple was showcased via the legendary British motorcycle manufacturer in a teaser video. Lately, a new video that is unveiling the motorcycle thoroughly has also surpassed. In the video, seven-time World Superbike Champion Carl Fogarty and two-time Isle of Man TT winner Gary Johnson are riding two Speed Triples in RS-Spec. Chances are they could be the base version too.

Other than this, the video is hinting at the arrival of Speed Triple in an improved manner on January 29. Though, no official detail against the upcoming is unveiled by Triumph.

Apparently, the 2018 Speed Triple did not appear different from the current model though it gets updated in almost all aspects considering dynamics, features, electronics or features. Still, the changes are witnessed in the form of a pair of Arrow end-cans as standard and tuned exhaust note.

In addition to this, a new TFT instrument cluster has taken place of the instrument console consisting an analogue speedometer and LCD screen on the current model. it was displaying the information like vehicle speed, engine speed, gear indicator, fuel level, fuel economy, estimated range, temperature and time.

s the terms used like ‘more powerful’ and ‘more agile’ in the video make us believe the new motorcycle will get a more crunch and perform much better with the changes made on the engine and electronic package front.

Moreover, as per the earlier reports, the rev counts for the older 1,050cc triple-cylinder motor has been increased to generate power more power around 140hp. Also, the updated ride-by-wire during 2016 along with Euro-IV compliance enhances the bike’s electronic suite to a great extent. In addition to this, the RS version of the model also probable to get top end Ohlins suspension setup and Brembo calipers for braking. While the base models will get expensive cycle parts for these concerned duties.

The Speed that was bulkier will now be much lighter and agile and it will be furnished with high-quality tyres.

The Indian arrival of updated Street Triple is still in darkness. While the RS variant of the same has already gained the appreciation for its naked streetfighter performance in the country. Here it will go in competition with the models such as the Kawasaki Z1000, Suzuki GSX-S1000 and the upcoming Honda CB1000R.

Other launches from the Triumph stable besides this new Speed Triple will include the Tiger 1200, Tiger 800 range and the Bonneville Speedmaster.
