Turbocharged Kawasaki Ninja, Following the legacy of Supercharged H2

The Kawasaki Ninja H2 visited the global milestone during the INTERMOT and EICMA event held in 2014. The supercharger equipped motorbike was able to develop a power as good as 310PS. The next to join the legacy is the Ninja ZX-14R which has spent a good length of the lifetime and is doing great here, but with naturally aspirated system. Attaching the “turbocharged” with this bike may drag your focus to the US and European market, but the thing you will see it in Amchi Mumbai, India. The bike has followed the owner’s thirst to make out better power than the original spec. Hence, he found a guy to do the job for him there.

The person, Stuart Lima, who performed the job, is an active participator of "Elite Octane" and Drag racing. He runs a self-driven workshop where he plays with several automobiles for the refinement and betterment. He was willing to do some crazy job on a Ninja ZX-14R as there were no turbocharged two wheelers in India and his wish was to see someone dragging such a machine. A Hyderabad resident reached Stuart to get his ZX-14R tuned cum modified into a whooping machine, for which turbocharger was a great option. Soon, they started working on the same and ordered a kit from Garret to work with the machine.

The Big Difference: Shower the Horse Power, SuperCharger VS TurboCharger

Initially, they faced a lot of problems due to the air filter. The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R is crafted with a chassis built air filter, which needs to be modified before any severe steps. The main objective of the turbocharger is to insert more air into the engine chamber and it is placed at the exhaust shore of the same. The smoke make the turbo turbine revolve, which pulls air from the atmosphere and feeds it at the inlet. The air must be clean and clear for which air filter is engaged over the job.

The first experience of the post-modification bike was something close to the thrill. The wheel-spin occurred a lot over being hard on the throttle. The final power output of the bike is estimated to be around 280BHP that is 70 BHP more than the original one. The streets of Mumbai might not have the limits of this much of power, so Mumbai Hyderabad highway would serve the proper track.
