The Chennai based bikemaker, TVS Motor has brought in a refreshed, more attentive and aggressive iteration of its flagship Apache model. The TVS Apache is now available in Race Edition with an advanced technical aspect of the slipper clutch. Available in three trims- Carburetor, EFI, and Carburetor with ABS, the price for the respective variants are as follows- INR 95185, INR 107885 and INR 108985.

Power:

in terms of power, as claimed by the TVS Motors, the Race Edition 2.0 is powered by the similar 197.5cc, single-cylinder engine that does the propelling duty on the Apache RTR 200 4V. Though, the engine seems detuned to churn out improved power and torque figures. The Race Edition 2.0 is rated to spits out the maximum power of 20.5PS at 8500 rpm and 17 Nm of torque at 7,000rpm for the carburetted variant. Which is 19.77 PS and 18.1Nm for the standard Apache model? On the other hand, the fuel injected Race Edition model uses the churning power of 21PS with same 17 Nm of torque. Both the models took in comparison comes mated to a five-speed gearbox.


New Anti-Reverse Torque (A-RT) SLIPPER CLUTCH:

It is the new addition to the lately launched Apache Race Edition. As claimed by the company this first in segment feature enhances the performance of the motorcycle by reducing 22 percent clutch force for the upshifts. Consecutively, it helps in attaining better lap times to the rider. Further, on downshifts mechanism, the Anti-Reverse Torque (A-RT) Slipper Clutch minimizes wheel-hopping while high-speed downshifts.

The Apache RTR 200 4V standard model on the other hands uses Wet Multi-Plate clutch for the transmission. Basically, it works similar to the single plate clutch but used in performance oriented vehicles for the transmitting high torque.

Colour and Body Graphics:

Being offered in five colours of Black, Matte Black, Grey, Red and White, the Apache RTR 200 4V Race Edition with the striking body graphics and the new fly screen looks aggressive. The introduction of the new fly screen will help in enhancing the aerodynamic feature of the motorcycle. Optically, the mentioned changes are limited to this new Apache Race Edition.
