TVS Scooty had started the era of woman scooters about one and half decade back. Since then, the company has launched various variants and upgrades to the same. This year, TVS introduced Scooty Zest, which is an all new vehicle in over all engineering.
The convenience and maneuverability of the pristine one can be noticed in the new comer with ease, as few of the bits have been borrowed. Since, the company claims it to be a new product, the differences lies in the core part of the Zest.
Design
The 3rd leading two wheeler manufacturer has designed a lighter frame for the novice contender here. As far as the physical appearance is concerned, the looks resembles slightly to the last generation Scooty Pep Plus. The headlight, front body fare and basic shape hold the tweaks from there. Still the vehicle looks fresh, as the rear portion has suffered a massive transition. It now looks broad and bold. The tail light and blinkers shows curves and distinct pattern, and a black rear adjunct disjoints them. The grab rail also looks unspoilt and practical.
The storage space has been provided in the usual front glove box and the under seat manner. People need to step down to get the ride fueled. A new speedometer console has been put on the job, which also acts milometer and fuel gauge over the white canvas. A lot of other changes have also been indulged for the woman riders, few to name are low body weight and convenient main stand.
Core Schema
The Scooty Zest is boasted with the same engine currently pumping in the Jupiter and Wego. The lower weight and higher capacity engine combines to result great performance and handling. The awe factor placed beneath the vehicle, which has mesmerized many of the folks and me as well was in the tyres and the breaks. TVS did offbeat to the conventional arrangement of them. The front wheel is rounded up with a 90/100-10 sized rim with a drum brake worth 110mm diameter. Moving to the rear, the combination found was a tyre sized at 90/90-10 measuring the circumference of a 130mm diameter drum brake.
The reason to this arrangement as per the company’s statement was to deal with the heavy rear weight and to supply better grip and braking potential. The demand of such a package was from the chassis, so as to discharge the best of its purpose. With the mentioned configuration, TVS claims the Scooty Zest to reach a maximum speed limit of 84KMPH, delivering 62 KMPL of mileage. The 110cc engine is tuned with C-VTi technology and churns out 8.02 PS of power with 8.8 Nm of Torque. This power configuration has become a trend among the scooter segment in India.
Verdict
As far as the reliability is concerned, TVS products are always good to behave in all conditions. The Scooty has a great background and is been loved by people, especially among the female audience. The engine is tried and test in other products of the company while the new feet engaged to the Zest seem to be seriously considered by the company, as they are good on performance.
