Two New UM Motorcycles Likely to be Premiered at 2018 Auto Expo

A few days to go for 2018 Auto Expo and manufacturers are all geared to roll out their new, updated and concept models at the event. An American automaker out of them is rumoured to showcase its two new offerings in the distinguished segment. One belongs to the electric bike segment and is said to be the first electric cruiser bike in the world. While the other will be a new mass segment cruiser motorcycle that will be powered by a new 230cc liquid cooled engine. In addition to that, the later will essentially go in the competition with Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220. Moreover, no technical specs are leaked or officially revealed by the automaker yet.

Mr Rajeev Mishra, CEO, UM Lohia Two Wheelers, while announcing ready to showcase line-up for the Auto Expo 2018, said,"We are very excited to be a part of the Auto Expo 2018 and are confident that the visitors will be thrilled by the UM range of Motorcycles showcased at our stand. We will also be unveiling the world's first electric geared high-speed cruiser and a newly designed 230 cc cruiser which will showcase the prowess of UM Motorcycles at the Auto Expo. We are expecting a healthy footfall as we have some great surprises for the visitors which they can only experience at the stand."

The idea of entering into electric bike segment and its debut in front of the audience in 2018, was revealed by Mishra In September 2017. Meanwhile, he also announced to introduce new motorcycles in the segment like cruiser and adventure. The cruiser motorcycle will be a new 230cc mass segment motorcycle.

For the adventure tourer, the bike maker claimed its showcase at the 2018 Auto Expo. Also, the powering for the motorcycle will come from a v-twin engine in the displacement range of 350-450cc. Other than this, the company has done planning for the coming three years that will include the production of the motorcycles in the 300-500cc segment in India.

Besides these mentioned bikes in different categories, the automaker will also put its current portfolio on display at the 2018 Auto Expo that includes Renegade Commando Classic, Renegade Commando Mojave, Renegade Commando and Renegade Sports S.
