The American motorcycle maker United Motorcycle (UM) has announced that they will be going to become the part of the Indian two wheeler with the joint venture. The United Motorcycle and two-wheeler manufacturer Lohia Auto will manufacture and sell the motorcycle in India. The company might enter in the Indian market with its international range of Renegade Commando in our country during the festival season. Thus, with the joint venture, the United Motorcycle focusing on the requirement of the Indian market and will provide a wide range of motorcycle including cruiser and sport motorcycle with the small displacement of 100cc to 250cc. And, the motorcycle will be priced at 1.25 Lakh INR and will soon be available in India.
Rajeev Mishra, Director of UM Motorcycles India, recently revealed to media that "to achieve cost competitiveness in the market, we plan to locally manufacture our bikes. We will soon announce the name of our JV partner, which will execute the manufacturing operations while we will handle all other areas. However, setting up such as facility will take time and we expect to begin our local manufacturing by April 2015."

We are committed to produce the world class quality Bikes at our Kashipur plant. We are also committed to delight Indian consumers with our sales, after sales services and products" commented Mr. Ayush Lohia.
The manufacturing plant will be located in Northern India in the 2015 and the company has aimed to produce 1,00,000 units per year from this plant. Moreover, with the joint venture company, they are estimating a total investment of Rs. 120 Crore for the manufacture at the North India.
Renegade Commando is a cruiser motorcycle in terms of styling, which comes in matte finishing body. The bike contains low & split seats, round headlight, wide handlebar and dual exhaust. The most appealing part of this bike is the newly designed water-drop fuel tank that carrying a badge of Commando. Moreover the company will give three matte color options for the Indian market including Black, White and Green.
Apart from the style, the International variant of Renegade Commando has a 196cc displacement of engine and it will come with a 225cc engine for the Indian version. The engine is powered by a 225cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled and counter balanced engine that produces 18BHP of power at 8000RPM and 15.5Nm of torque at 5,500RPM, which is transmitted to the rear wheel through a five speed gearbox.
