The launch of Piaggio Vespa 946 Armani has been postponed till next month, which was earlier reported to be launched on October 25. Changing in the plans is not clear yet, though, it has been heard that the company is mulling to bring the standard variant of the limited edition model as well. Anticipated to be launched early next month, both the models, viz, the limited and the standard version could hold the price tag around INR 10 lakh and INR 8 lakh, respectively.
Both the scooters are not new to public at all as the standard Vespa 946 flaunted its first appearance at the 2014 Auto Expo while the limited edition unit had been showcased at the same event, however in 2016. Truly justifying the Italian marque’s retro classic design, both the tourers are arguably masterpieces possessing uniqueness of their own. Interestingly, the name defines the year in which Vespa took birth- The year 1946.
The Vespa 946 runs through a fuel-injected, 125cc, 3-valve engine, generating 11.9PS of maximum power with 10.3NM of maximum torque. Standard equipment armed in the heritage scooter are the ABS braking and ASR traction control systems. The engine comes shod to a CVT automatic gearbox.
While the specific launch date hasn’t been finalized by the company yet, Piaggio would not delay it more. The Emporio Armani Edition as well as the standard Vespa 946 will be the exclusive collectors edition versions that are going to be offered in India.
