At one of the most popular motorcycle shows in the world-EICMA 2016, Piaggio group has come up with some of its exciting future plans. Out of which, an all new electric scooter concept was pretty astonishing in the lineup. As the giant has tried its hands first time in the electric mobility, especially in the scooter segment. Yes, it’s true, well-known Vespa is going to be electric and Piaggio has entitled this all new electric project as the Vespa Elettrica. And the product ready iteration will be launched by mid-2017 as the company claimed.
To a large extent, Vespa Elettrica is a replica of regular Vespa scooter, adorning retro styling with modern touches. As it uses an all metal body structure and an electric motor as a replacement of internal combustion motor.
Piaggio quoted the Elettrica, like an illustration of its several decade's experiences with electric motors. However, pricing and electric motor output details have not been shared by the automaker. European launch of the production ready Vespa Elettrica is likely to happen at its unveiling, anytime in future. Altogether, Indian emergence of this scooter, as for now is in darkness.
