Volkswagen India has released the brochure depicting the variant-wise details of its upcoming Ameo Compact sedan. The details have been officially confirmed before the scheduled launch in July this year. The brochure tells us about the variant details and list of features provided across the variants. The brochure also throws light on the color options of the new Ameo sedan. The bookings have started from today, while the deliveries will take place by July.
The automaker will slot the Ameo in between the models like Vento Sedan and Polo hatchback in the compact car segment. As per the provided details, Ameo will be available in three variants namely, the base Trendline, mid-level Comfortline and the top-end Highline variant. Both manual and automatic transmissions will be available as choice. Also, the DSG automatic transmission will only be available with the 1.5-liter TDI diesel engine, which comes under the Comfortline and Highline trims. Volkswagen Ameo Trendline
The base Trendline variant features body colored mirrors, door handles and bumpers. The car gets ORVM mounted turn indicators, folding rear seat, flat bottom three-spoke steering wheel, power windows at front and central locking. On the safety front, it gets ABS and dual front airbags as standard.
VW Ameo Comfortline
In addition to Trendline, the Comfortline has been offered with dual-tone interior, dual-beam headlights, cooled glovebox, height-adjustable driver seat, cruise control, electrically-adjustable wing mirrors, ESP, hill hold, front and rear power windows, remote central locking, front and rear foglights, 4-speakers, CD/MP3/USB/AUX-in/SD card entertainment system with Bluetooth and iPod connectivity.
Volkswagen Ameo Highline
This is said to be the top end variant of the VW Ameo. It gets premium features and accessories such as leather wrapped steering wheel, automatic climate control, alloy wheels, automatic wipers, rear AC vents, auto dimming IRVM, reverse camera and parking sensors, static cornering lights, rear defogger, steering mounted controls and Touch-screen MirrorLink infotainment system.
Under the hood, Ameo comes powered by a 1.2-liter MPi petrol engine and a 1.5-liter TDI diesel engine with optional manual & DSG automatic transmissions. VW Ameo compact sedan will be available in five color options namely, the Reflex Silver, Blue Silk, Toffee Brown, Carbon Steel and Candy White. Post launch, it will be seen competing with prominent close rivals like Maruti Swift Dzire, Ford Figo Aspire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Tata Zest. It is expected to be priced in between Rs 5 Lakhs to 8.5 lakhs, ex-Showroom.
