Finally wait comes to an end, when Volkswagen has made an announcement of pre-booking for its Ameo compact sedan. It will commence from May 12, 2016 across all the company's showroom. Meanwhile, the carmaker has also proclaimed a roadshow that will befall in 17-cities in the time period between May 12 to July 2. So, we can expect that the car will celebrate its launch event sometime later after July or might be in July. No token amount has been out at the moment.
Available in both petrol and diesel variant, the Ameo compact sedan was first debuted a day before the 2016 Auto expo and also showcased at the event. However, only the petrol engine will be launched in the Indian auto market yet, while the diesel will come after an update. The details of the former unit is a 1.2-litre three cylinder that pumps out 75 PS and 110 Nm of torque.

In case, there is no update, the diesel engine will get the same 1.5-litre, 4 cylinder TDI and churn out 89 Bhp of power. For transmission, petrol trim will be integrated with a 5-speed manual only while the diesel will also be coupled to a 7-speed DSG unit. Furthermore, the vehicle is also equipped with dual front airbags and ABS as standard attachments. Made in India, the model is specially designed for the Indian auto segment.
