Volkswagen has revealed Polo special edition during the Indonesia International Motor Show 2018. The new Polo VRS takes Polo TSI as the basis and obtains a revision in some cosmetic features and power.
The Polo VRS special edition is based on the 5th-gen Polo that is already available in India for sale and the sixth-generation model was showcased at the 2017 Frankfurt motor show, but the Volkswagen didn't reveal it here yet.
The hot hatch obtains the larger 16-inch black alloy wheels, VRS badge on both sides and a black spoiler. Looking from the front bumper lip, you can notice a blacked-out finish and also a silver insert in middle. Coming to the cabin, no apparent changes have been made.

With the inclusion of Performance Package, the Polo VRS receives a prominent upgrade. Further, it is powered by a 1.2-litre engine which is able to churn out a maximum power of 140hp and a peak torque of 230Nm. The powertrain revision is reflective as it improved over 35hp of power and 55Nm of torque as compared to the foregoing 1.2-litre engine.
The recently launched Polo in India is powered by a 1.0-litre engine that is able to churn out a max power of 76hp and a peak torque of 95 Nm. It will be quite enthralling if the carmaker brings the special edition Polo VRS to India. However, there is no official confirmation regarding the special edition Polo VRS to launch in India.
