Volvo is all set to roll out the petrol version of its V40 Cross Country in the Indian car market on April 20 in this ongoing year. Hitherto, This runabout is available via CBU route only with a diesel variant alongside a FWD configuration, while the upcoming gasoline model would have AWD system. It is probably to be powered by a four cylinder direct enjection turbo petrol engine that believes to create an appreciable power of 245 bhp and a superb torque of 350 Nm. The churned out power will be sent to its all four wheels via an 8-speed Geartronic automatic transmission.
On the other hand, its existing oil burner variant gets a 2.0 litre inline five turbo unit to produce the maximum power of 245 bhp and a peak torque of 350 Nm. It is mated to a 6-speed 'Powershift' automatic gearbox that is capable for sending the produced power to the front wheels of this vehicle. Volvo had made the first appearance of its V40 Cross Country at the 2012 Paris Motor Show and finally now, this V40 hatchback based small crossover model is gearing up to hit the Indian ways on April 20, 2015.
However, the long awaited vehicle will have more attractive cosmetic components as compared to the regular hatchback with 17 inch “larenta” alloy wheels including brushed aluminium finish. Other features are anticipated to comprise ABS+EBD, Traction Control, City Safety Braking, ESP and front, curtain as well as knee airbags. Moreover, it would receive cruise control, park assist system, panoramic sunroof, rear parking cameras, rear parking sensors and leather seats with ventilation function.
Notably, the forthcoming Cross Country includes an 8 inch TFT screen based infotainment system, which will make the driver capable to select a driving mode among three choices comprising Elegance, Eco and Performance.
