Volvo has just recently upgraded its XC60 SUV for the international market and now they've confirmed that the company will be updating its V40 sedan and XC40 crossover very soon in the market with their latest CMA platform and to rival the increasing share of the German trio BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz in the crossover market especially in Europe and India, along with the rest of the world. The SPS platform on which the XC60 was facelifted is not suitable for the compact SUV type and hence the company will be developing them on the new CMA platform that has been modified by the Volvo's parent company Geely in China.
According to the company, the new C-segment Modular Architecture (CMA) is a more flexible concept to develop the cars from a hatchback to a compact SUV. Volvo also sees it as an answer to the famous crossovers of the German trio, that is Mercedes-Benz GLA Class, Audi Q3 and BMW X1. The engine of these newly developed cars will be the very new Drive-E technology 4-Cylinder petrol and diesel engine, that too has been launched not very long back.
The price of the cars hasn't been disclosed yet, and it would be very early to say that the price will be out at the time of launch because the only this which is confirmed is the year of launch only that is 2016 for the V40 sedan and 2018 for the XC40.
