Volvo had introduced the XC40 R-Design which is an entry-level SUV, on 4th July 2018, in the month starting with a price point of Rs. 39.9 lakh. Within 15 days, around 200 units of the 1st batch have been purchased by the customers, which enhanced the Volvo to introduce more variants in the line-up of the XC40.
Volvo has introduced the entry-level trim, named Momentum at Rs. 39.9 lakh in India. The R-Design is now the mid-level variant and available at Rs. 42.9 lakh, whereas the top-spec Inscription is available at Rs. 43.9 lakh.
The R-Design comes packed with front electric seats, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio unit, 9-inch portrait touchscreen, electric tail-gate, leather upholstery, ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof. The Inscription obtains a fancier alloy wheel styling, a fancier grille, driftwood inlays of a cabin, electrically bend up rear seats, and chrome finish to the exterior surface.
The Momentum frees out the fancier equipment but obtains full safety net, infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, standard cruise control and infotainment system. It comes powered by a diesel engine generating a peak power of 187bhp and mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission box along with all-wheel drive as a standard setup.
Deliveries of the new variant are likely to begin from August and it is available at a pre-booking amount of Rs. 2 lakh at the nearby outlets. The XC40 rival to the Audi Q3, Mercedes-Benz GLA and BMW X1 considering the entry-level lineup in the luxury SUV segment.
