The Swedish car maker Volvo has just launched the R Kit equipped XC90 R-Design at the Detroit Motor Show 2015. The car is highly anticipated for India as the company has already launched the S60 Cross Country Sedan and XC90 as well. This new version of XC90 will be a bit more sporty in looks and design and will be sold as the second generation of the car. The major changes have been done on the exterior side with the event model finished in matte-blue color, aluminum covered wing mirrors, 5-spoke alloy wheels, front splitter and side skirts and R-Design badge as well. However, inside changes are only subtle, if defined.
The car gets Nubuck textile sports seats with perforated leather combination as a major interior change. Mechanically, there hasn't been any changes done on the car and it'll be powered by the very same Drive-E range of engines comprising 4-cylinders in it. The power output would also be as same as they are on current model of XC90 SUV.
The company had started the bookings for this new XC90 R-Design last year itself and has already received 6000 bookings as well. Coming to its India launch, the car might hit the road in the middle of the year as a CBU unit. The price has not been declared yet by the company and might get disclosed at the time of launch.
